KTRA and D Bar K horse camp are teaming up to bring you the Extreme Cowboy Challenge 2009
The Extreme Cowboy Challenge is a judged and timed race, outside, through a course of approximately 10 to 15 obstacles. The course will have natural, as well as man made obstacles which are likely to include trust exercises, log pulling, dirt terrain, backing through a pattern, opening gates, etc. Come and see how well you can communicate with your horse. Do you have a true partnership with your favorite equine friend based on trust? Come test your skills and see what you and your horse can accomplish together while having some fun and meeting other horse people. Obstacles will be set up Memorial Day weekend at D Bar K for practice.
Dates: June 19-21 & September 18-20, 2009. Competition 11am Saturday, June 20 (and Sept 19); 10am Sunday, June 21 (and Sept 20).

Prizes: There will be a 50% payback of entry fee divided among the 1st place. 2nd and 3rd place winner for Saturday as well as for Sunday.
If you can only participate one day, you still have a chance to win prize money!
Grand Prize: In September, after completion, we will take June and September points, add them together, and the person with the highest total points will win a Park and Trail saddle with a Flex Tree donated by Circle Y.
How to Apply: Pre-registration can be done online at www.kytrailriders.org; you can download the form and send it to the KTRA address noted. If you pre-register before June 13th, the June entry fee is $35 for members and $50 for non-members which includes Saturday and Sunday. September entry fee is $35 for members and $50 for non-members if you pre-register before September 12th and includes Saturday and Sunday. The registration fee the day of the event is $40 for members and $55 for non-members. Non-members can pay an additional $10 to become a member and save $5 if competing both weekends. You must be registered by 10:00 am Saturday morning & 9:00 am Sunday morning. If you wish to compete one day only, the fee is $30.
Other Information: Spectators will be charged $5 at the gate. Wristbands will be required for participants and spectators.

All breeds are welcome, but
negative coggins and health papers are required at the time of registration.

Debbie King, owner of D Bar K has put together fees: $76.00 per person for meals (Friday dinner, Sat breakfast, Sat dinner and Sunday breakfast), includes 1 stall. $68 for meal package and a panel pen. Campsites are $40.00 for Fri and Sat night (2 people pay only 1 campsite fee). Campsite only: $20.00/night. Stall $8.00/night; panel pen $4.00/night.
